Music Venues in Coventry

We are really proud to encourage our guitar students to form local bands & start gigging, as well as for all our guitar students to go to see as many bands live as they can. You can learn so much about guitarist's stagecraft and live performance by going to see everyone from local bands to internationally renowned artists. Coventry has some great music venues, everything from stadium areas that have seen the likes of Kings of Leon & Red Hot Chili Peppers perform to local pubs for young bands. Here is a short list of some of the best places to go and watch live music Coventry has to offer! In no order...

The Ricoh Arena has played host to some of the biggest bands in the world, the likes of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kings of Leon, Coldplay, Florence & The Machine, Bon Jovi, Pink and Oasis are just some of the acts that have rocked audiences in this massive 25,000 capacity stadium. A great venue to see any of these artists, with the music bouncing around the stadium to the raw of the crowd. Keeping your eye on who is playing is a must for all music enthusiasts in Coventry, top stadium venue.

Warwick Arts Centre, although a little way down the road is another fantastic venue! Slightly smaller than the Ricoh Arena by about 23,000 seats the Warwick Arts Centre has drawn many great bands to rock their stage. With the likes of Seth Lakeman, The Proclaimers and Grizzly Bear performing in the last few months the Warwick Arts Centre is a perfect venue for local up and coming bands from Coventry to gain a wider audience in the midlands supporting bands like the above! Keep your eye on who is playing here & grab yourself a supporting gig by contacting the management.

Kasbah Nightclub, Coventry is well known by locals to be one of the top independent music venues in the Midlands. Have seen the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Babyshambles, Enter Shikari and Calvin Harris (pictured!) grace their stage, along with many many more, this really is one of Coventry's best venues to watch live music. With Yellowcard, Chase & Status and Lucy Rose set to play at the Kasbah over the next few months you should be getting yourself there to watch. The Kasbah is also a fantastic club for local bands to start playing at or supporting these larger bands, in 2011 for the first time an unsigned band, Pint Shot Riot, sold out the 1,000 capacity main stage! With some great opportunities to support some of the UK biggest bands, up and coming, local bands should totally be knocking the managerial door down at Kasbah to get a slot.

Warwick Student Union, although 20 minutes down the road, is well worth visiting having seen the likes of The Wombats, Zane Lowe and Marina and the Diamonds entertain packed crowds. It is a great place for up and coming bands to grow an audience with a passionate student population at Warwick University and young bands from Coventry should certainly be thinking about getting slots supporting some of the bigger acts that play. Great venue - see you on the front row.
